2018 Dodge Durango New Generation

According to some reports, the next generation of the famous Dodge Durango is due to arrive for the 2018 model year. This full-size SUV is expected to retain its current proportions, while adopting a more refined design and improved fuel efficiency. We expect the 2018 Dodge Durango to arrive as a much more competitive model compared to its predecessor. After receiving a total overhaul, the brand new generation of the 7-passenger SUV is expected to take on other family-haulers such as the redesigned Mazda CX-9, Chevrolet Traverse, Ford Explorer, Toyota Highlander and Honda Pilot.

2018 Dodge Durango Redesign

The 2018 Dodge Durango will feature an all-new sheet metal but its size and profile shouldn’t stray too far from the current version. Expect to see a more sophisticated appearance and improved aerodynamics. The redesigned Durango’s front fascia will feature a new take on the brand’s signature cross-hair grille, while the new LED light clusters will come in a more contemporary form. Of course, this seven-passenger SUV is expected to retain some of the traditional styling cues that set it apart from the rest of the competition.

Inside the 2018 Dodge Durango, the changes will be more evolutionary. The current iteration already offers a luxurious cabin replete with premium materials and elegant styling cues. The whole interior will be further improved in order to offer one of the most comfortable riding experiences available in this segment. As far as the technological amenities are concerned, the fourth-generation Durango will be significantly improved compared to its predecessor. Unfortunately, the detailed engine specifications for the 2018 Dodge Durango have yet to be released. However, we expect it to be offered with more efficient powertrains compared to those found in the outgoing version. It is currently available with the standard 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 that makes 290 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. As for the optional 5.7-liter Hemi V8, it churns out 360 hp and 390 lb-ft of twist. Both engines come paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive as an option. Now, the 2018 model could also receive the company’s more efficient nine-speed automatic transmission.

The 2018 Dodge Durango is expected to make its debut in the second half of 2017. More detailed information are likely to surface in the very near future.
